Metro Breez
The Metro Breez (stylized METRO BREEZ) is an express bus service in southern Maine, United States, provided by Greater Portland Metro. It runs fifteen times on weekdays and six times on Saturdays between Portland, the state's largest city, and Brunswick, around to the northeast, with stops in Yarmouth and Freeport. The service was established in 2016, after a successful pilot project, via an Act of the 129th Maine Legislature. Its long-term potential was to reduce congestion on Interstate 295, on which the service runs for part of its route. The route initially ran between Portland and Freeport, but was expanded to Brunswick in 2017. Falmouth was removed from the route around the same time; this route was already served by the route 7 ''Falmouth Flyer''. Each bus offers free Wi-Fi. The Greater Portland METRO is a regional Public Transportation, public transportation system, established in 1966, in Southern Maine. The ''Downeaster'' is a passenger train service operated by Amtrak and managed by the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA), an agency of the state of Maine. Named for the Down East region of Maine, the train operates five daily round trips between North Station in Boston, Massachusetts, and Brunswick, Maine, with ten intermediate stops. In fiscal 2024, the ''Downeaster'' carried 598,426 passengers, up 27.0% from the previous year. Munjoy Hill
Munjoy Hill is a neighborhood and prominent geographical feature of Portland, Maine. It is located east of downtown and south of East Deering. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the neighborhood had a large Irish and Italian American population. The neighborhood is named for George Munjoy, who settled near the intersection of Mountfort Street and Fore Street (Portland, Maine), Fore Street. The neighborhood became known as "Mount Joy" for a period of the early 19th century, before reverting to "Munjoy". Monument Square (formerly Market Square or Haymarket Square) is a town square in downtown Portland, Maine, about halfway between the East Bayside and Old Port neighborhoods. One Monument Square and One City Center are among the buildings on the square itself, while the Time and Temperature Building, Fidelity Trust Building and the main branch of the Portland Public Library are on Congress Street, across from the square. Longfellow Square is a public square in Portland, Maine, United States.
