Metro Balderas (song)
"Metro Balderas", as it is generally known, or for its original name, "Estación del metro Balderas" ("Balderas subway station"), is a song by Mexican rock musician Rockdrigo González, Rodrigo "Rockdrigo" González, which refers to a man looking for a woman who got lost in the crowd at Mexico City Metro station Metro Balderas. This song, along with other González's songs such as ''Distante instante'' and ''Balada del asalariado,'' can be found in the album ''Hurbanistorias'', recorded in 1984. These songs are available online at González's official website. González had enormous influence on Mexican rock bands, such as El Tri (band), El Tri and Botellita de Jerez; his songs have been recorded many times, especially after his death. Rockdrigo González
Rodrigo González (25 December 1950 – 19 September 1985), better known as Rockdrigo or ''El profeta del nopal'' ("The Nopal Prophet"), was a Mexican singer-songwriter. He died at age 35 with his girlfriend, Francoise Bardinet, when the apartment building in which he was living collapsed in the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, Mexico City earthquake of 19 September 1985. Tracción Acústica is the tenth album of Enanitos Verdes released on January 27, 1998. Tracción Acústica is a compilation of their greatest hit songs recorded live in high acoustic quality. It includes a tribute to the legendary Mexican rock band El Tri, performing their classic theme " Metro Balderas". The album also contains two unreleased tracks: "El Guerrero" and "Fiesta Jurásica". It received a nomination for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards, becoming the group's first nomination at the ceremony. Enanitos Verdes ( "Little green dwarves", roughly equivalent to the English phrase "Little green men") is an Argentine rock band formed in 1979 in Mendoza. History The band started in 1979, with Marciano Cantero (bass, keyboards, vocals), Felipe Staiti (guitar) and Daniel Piccolo (drums). That same year, they performed throughout the Cuyo region. José Alejandro Lora Serna (born December 2, 1952), better known by his stage name Álex Lora, is a Mexican musician and composer. Simplemente (Simply) (1984) is the first studio album by the band originally known as Three Souls in My Mind and the first one as El Tri. The name comes as a direct reference from the way the fans called the band ''Tri'', which is the way ''Three'' sounds in Spanish, hence Simply The word Tri. Tianguis Cultural Del Chopo
The Tianguis Cultural del Chopo is a Saturday flea market (''tianguis'' in Mexican Spanish) near downtown Mexico City, known locally as ''El Chopo''. It is named after its original location which was near the Museo Universitario del Chopo, an Art Nouveau building with a couple of towers designed by Bruno Möhring.
