Metea Valley High School is a high school in Aurora, Illinois that opened in August 2009 in DuPage County, Illinois, DuPage County. The school is one of four high schools operated by the Indian Prairie School District 204, Indian Prairie School District. Waubonsie Valley High School is also in Aurora, while Neuqua Valley High School and Wheatland Academy are in Naperville, Illinois, Naperville. The school follows IPSD's tradition of naming its High Schools after Native American figures with its namesake Metea. Preparations Serving Indian Prairie School District 204, and opened for the 2009–2010 academic year for freshman and sophomore classes (grades nine and ten), Metea Valley cost $124.7 million to build, and can hold 3,000 students. Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad, sometimes abbreviated as SciOly, is an American team competition in which students compete in 23 events pertaining to various fields of science. The subjects include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Over 7,800 middle school and high school teams from 50 U.S. states compete with each year. The U.S. territories do not compete. However, several international teams do compete in Science Olympiad tournaments in the U.S. There are multiple levels of the competition: invitational, regional, state, and national. Model United Nations
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN (MUN), is an educational simulation of the United Nations, which teaches students about diplomacy, international relations, global issues, and how the United Nations is run. During a model UN conference, delegates assume the roles of representatives of countries, organizations, or individuals to collaborate and present global issues. Key Club International, also called Key Club, is an international service organization for high school students. Key Club International is the high school branch of the Kiwanis International family, classified as a Service Leadership Program and more specifically as a Kiwanis Youth Program. The Junior State of America (formerly the Junior Statesmen of America), abbreviated JSA, was an American non-partisan youth organization. The purpose of JSA was to help high school students acquire leadership skills and the knowledge necessary to be effective debaters and civic participants.
