''Metal Gear Online'', also known as ''Metal Gear Online 2'', was a Stealth game, stealth third-person shooter video game for the PlayStation 3. Released in 2008, it was an online multiplayer spin-off of the ''Metal Gear'' video game series. The starter pack of ''Online'' was available worldwide bundled with ''Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots'', with a standalone release for Japan. The name ''Metal Gear Online'' is common with earlier online components for ''Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater#Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence'' and ''Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops''. Kojima Productions
is a Japanese video game development studio founded in 2015 by Hideo Kojima, creator of the ''Metal Gear'' series. It is the spiritual successor to a production team inside Konami also known as Kojima Productions originally founded in 2005. The independent Kojima Productions has a slightly altered Japanese name and is based in Shinagawa, Tokyo. ''Joystiq'' was a video gaming blog which was part of the Weblogs, Inc. family later owned by AOL. It was active from 2004 to 2015, acting as the primary video game blog for the group, and operating alongside ''Engadget'' and sister blogs such as ''Massively''. From 2007 it hosted ''The Joystiq Podcast'', which was hosted by editor-in-chief Chris Grant, reviews editor Justin McElroy and Ludwig Kietzmann.
