Messmer High School
Messmer High School is a private Catholic high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is located in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Messmer High School was established in 1926 as Diocesan High School. It was renamed after Archbishop Sebastian Messmer in 1928. From September 1997 to September 1998, due to a school voucher program, the number of students increased by almost 20%, to 366, and 30 students were on a wait list as of the latter month; years prior, the school did not have a waiting list. John Johnson (basketball, Born 1947)
John Howard Getty "J. J." Johnson (October 18, 1947 – January 7, 2016) was an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes. High school and college career Johnson played high school basketball at Messmer High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior, he helped lead Messmer to the Wisconsin state title in 1966. Johnson, a 6’7" small forward, then played for Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming and for the University of Iowa. He set an Iowa record for points in a season during his senior year, when he averaged 27.9 points per game. Johnson also holds Iowa's top two scoring performances with 49 and 46 points. Johnson played two seasons for Iowa, leading the team in scoring and rebounding both seasons. Ishmael Ali (known professionally as IshDARR) is an American rapper, hip hop artist, and actor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has released 2 EPs and 3 LPs. His most recent project, the mixtape ''Slow Down, KID'', was released in November 2018 and was distributed by EMPIRE. IshDARR is also an actor who had a role in the 2018 film, '' White Boy Rick.
