Meshimakobu and sanghuang / sanghwang,; Revised Romanization of Korean, Revised Romanization: ''sanghwang / sanghwangbeoseot'' also known as mesima (English) or black hoof mushroom (American English), is a mushroom in East Asia. Per Wu et al. (2012) citing Ito (1955) and Imazeki and Hongo (1989), this is a mushroom that is always said to be on mulberry trees. Taxonomy ''Polyporus linteus'' was named by Miles Joseph Berkeley and Moses Ashley Curtis and first reported with specimen from Nicaragua in 1860. ''Phellinus linteus'' was a rename by Shu Chun Teng, Shu Chün Teng in 1963. It was renamed ''Tropicoporus linteus'' by Li-Wei Zhou and Yu-Cheng Dai in 2015.
