Mesaimeer
Mesaimeer ( ar, مسيمير, Musaymīr) is a district in the municipality of Al Rayyan in Qatar. Located south-west of Doha, it shares borders with the Doha Industrial Area to the east, Umm Al Seneem, Abu Hamour and Al Mamoura to the north-west, Al Thumama to the east, and Wadi Aba Saleel and Jery Musabbeh to the south-east. Etymology The district derives its name from the Arabic word "musmar", meaning "nail". Regionally, the term "musmar" is used to describe dark-colored jagged stones with heads that resemble nails. As these stones are found abundantly in the area, it was decided that its name would reflect this feature. History According to oral history, in 1851, the inhabitants of Mesaimeer launched an invasion of Doha. Al-Mesaimeer Sports Club ( ar, نادي المسيمير الرياضي) is a Qatari multi-sports club based in Mesaimeer. Its football department plays in the Qatari Second Division. It was previously known as ''Al-Nahda Sports Club'', then ''Al-Shoala'', and finally, today it is known as ''Mesaimeer Sports Club''. It was promoted to the first division of Qatari football for the first time in history in the 2014–15 season. Al Rayyan
Al Rayyan (; also spelled as ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipality in the state of Qatar. Its primary settlement is the city of the same name, which occupies the entire eastern section and largely surrounds Metropolitan Doha and functions as a suburb. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. Qatar Stars League
The Qatar Stars League ( ar, دوري نجوم قطر), or the QSL, also called QNB Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD). Seasons of the QSL usually run from September to April.
