Mes Soongoun Varzaghan F.C.
History Mes Soongoun Varzaghan Football Club was established on 1 May 2010 in Varzaghan, Iran. It is the team of the Mes Soongoun copper company. The team bought the licence of Shahin Ahvaz and began competitions in the 2nd Division in 2010. In their first year Mes Varzaghan finished 13th in group B and were relegated to the 3rd Division. The following season they were again promoted to the 2nd Division. Melli Pooshan F.C. replaced for Mes Soongoun F.C. in Iran Football's 2nd Division 2014–15. Iran Football's 2nd Division
Iranian football's 2nd division ( fa, ليگ دسته دوم ایران) is the third-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 2nd division league was the second-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to third-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional. The league consists of two, fourteen team groups who play each other twice in a home and away format. The first and second placed teams in each group are automatically promoted to the Azadegan League. The bottom two teams in both groups are automatically relegated to the 3rd division. If teams in the promotion or relegation spots are tied in terms of points, a home and away series will be played. The team with the best aggregate score will either avoid relegation or win promotion. Varzaqan ( fa, ورزقان; also Romanized as Varzeqān and Warzagan; formerly, Karzigan (Persian: كَرزيگَن), also Romanized as Kārzigān and Karzygan) is a city in the Central District of Varzaqan County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran, and serves as capital of the county. At the 2006 census, its population was 3,549 in 930 households. The following census in 2011 counted 5,385 people in 1,392 households. Iranian football's 3rd division ( fa, ليگ دسته سوم ایران) is the fourth-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 3rd division league was the third-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to fourth-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional. The league consists of two stages. In first stage, 65 teams participate in five groups of 13 teams each. The groups are organized in a manner such that teams closer to each other geographically end up in the same group. Because of this the 3rd division can be considered as a regional league. Stage one is played in single round-robin format and this is the only league organised by IRIFF which has no home-and-away format. Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions. The IRIFF decided to award one of Iran's AFC Champions League spots to the winner of the Hazfi Cup, and since then, the winners of Hazfi Cup have always been allocated a spot in the AFC Champions League. The article contains information about the 2011–12 Iran 3rd Division football season. This is the 4th rated football league in Iran after the Persian Gulf Cup, Azadegan League, and 2nd Division. The league competition started from 2 October 2011. From the First Round, 12 teams go through the Second Round. From that round four team will be promoted directly to 2012–13 Iran Football's 2nd Division, and two teams go through the play-off where the winner also will be promoted.
