Merrimack Warriors
The Merrimack Warriors are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Merrimack College, located in North Andover, Massachusetts, in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sporting competitions. All of the Warrior athletic teams compete at the NCAA Division I, Division I level. Men's and women's ice hockey compete in the Hockey East conference and football competes as an NCAA Division I FCS independent schools, FCS Independent, while the remaining teams are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The college's combination of academic and athletic success has garnered Merrimack the #4 ranking in the country among NCAA Division II schools in the Top 100 Collegiate Power Rankings that are published by the National College Scouting Association. Merrimack Warriors Football
The Merrimack Warriors football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Merrimack College located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and plays as an FCS Independent. Merrimack's first football team was fielded in 1996. The team plays its home games at the 4,000 seat Duane Stadium in North Andover, Massachusetts. The Warriors are led by Mike Gennetti. History The Merrimack football program had its first official season in 1996. During this time the Warriors would play their home games at Martone-Mejail Field. NCAA Division II Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The NCAA Division II Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was an annual tournament to determine the top men's ice hockey team in NCAA Division II from 1978 until 1984 and then again from 1993 until 1999. The Division II Championship was suspended following 1999, due to a lack of sponsoring schools. Most of the schools in Division II hockey became members of newly formed hockey conferences, such as College Hockey America. The Northeast-10 Conference is the last remaining Division II conference that sponsors ice hockey. Merrimack Warriors Men's Soccer
The Merrimack Warriors men's soccer program represents the Merrimack College in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1970, the Warriors compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Warriors are coached by Tony Martone, who has coached the program for 39 years, the longest of any NCAA men's program. Merrimack play their home matches at Martone-Mejail Field. In 2019, the Warriors began play in Division I, reclassified from Division II. In their inaugural Division I season, the Warriors earned their first Northeast Conference regular season championship and fifth overall. The Merrimack Warriors men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Merrimack College. The Merrimack Warriors men's basketball team represents Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Merrimack Warriors baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate athletic team of the Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, United States. The team competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I and is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. History The Merrimack basketball program was started in 1980. They eventually joined the Northeast 10 conference in 1985. From 1985-87 the Warriors finished at the bottom of the NE10. The year after during the 1988 season they did have there first bit of success. Going 9-7 in conference and 24-15 overall they would even go on to win the ECAC North tournament that year as well.This was their first winning season since their inaugural season.
