Aly Zaker
Aly Zaker (6 November 1944 – 27 November 2020) was a Bangladeshi actor, businessman, director and writer. He was the owner of Asiatic Marketing Communications Limited (Asiatic 3 Sixty). Zaker served as a freedom fighter during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. He was one of the trustees of Liberation War Museum in Dhaka. In 1999 Zakar was awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak award by the Government of Bangladesh, which is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh. Aly Zaker, who had cancer, died at Dhaka's United Hospital at 6:45am on 27 November 2020. He was being treated for COVID-19. Background and early life Zaker was born in Chittagong. Mustafa Monwar
Mustafa Monwar (born 1 September 1935) is a Bangladeshi artist. He is a painter, sculptor, radio performer and professor of fine arts. He is currently the chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Monwar is the son of poet Golam Mostofa. He passed his matriculation exam from Narayanganj Government High School. He was initially admitted to the Scottish Church College of the University of Calcutta where he studied science. Sudhin Das (; 30 April 1930 – 27 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi Nazrul Sangeet musician. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Das was born in Bagichagaon, Comilla, to Nishi Kanta Das and Hemprabha Das on 30 April 1930. Das started learning music at Sangeet Shikhharthee Sammilan in Comilla, established by his elder brother Suren Das in 1942. Das was enlisted in Radio Pakistan when he was a college student in 1948. In 1985, after finishing his learning, Das moved to Dhaka and joined as a member of the ''Nazrul Sangeet Promanikoron Board'' at Nazrul Institute. He taught Nazrul Sangeet to the young artists of the institute. Personal life Das was married to Neelima Das. She is also an artist of Nazrul Sangeet. Anwarul Islam (known as Baby Islam; 1931 – 24 May 2010) was a Bangladeshi cinematographer and film director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography for the film (1975). Early life and education Islam was born in 1931 in Murshidabad, West Bengal to Abdul Hossain Biswas and Motaharun Nessa. He went to a missionary school in Sealdah and moved to Cathedral Mission High School. He matriculated in 1945 before attending Bangabasi College, under the University of Calcutta. Career Islam started his career as the assistant of Bengali film director Ajoy Kar. In 1956, he joined as a senior photographer at the Information Department in Dhaka. He served as the general manager of Film Development Corporation (FDC). Ferdausi Rahman
Ferdausi Rahman (; born 28 June 1941) also known as Ferdausi Begum is a Bangladeshi playback singer. She is the daughter of folk singer Abbas Uddin. She sang some popular film songs for Pakistani films also in the 1960s especially working with the music composer Robin Ghosh in film Chakori released in 1967. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh. Personal life Rahman had two elder brothers, Justice Mustafa Kamal (died 2015) and singer Mustafa Zaman Abbasi. Her niece, Nashid Kamal, is a singer.
