Merciless is a Swedish Death metal, death/thrash metal band, formed in Strängnäs in 1986. They are one of the longest-serving Swedish extreme metal bands. History The band was formed during the summer of 1986 in Strängnäs by Erik Wallin (guitar), Fredrik Karlén (bass guitar) and Stefan Carlsson (drums). They were inspired by the early fast-playing bands such as Kreator, Sodom (band), Sodom, Destruction (band), Destruction and Bathory (band), Bathory. First they did some local gigs as "Obsessed" and "Black Mass" but changed their name to Merciless in early 1987. A demo was recorded titled ''Behind the Black Door'', which led to the replacement of Kåle by Rogga in early 1988. With this line-up they recorded a second demo ''Realm of the Dark'' in June 1988. Merciless, born Leonard Bartley (1 July 1971 – 19 July 2022) in the Turner district of Chapelton, Clarendon, Jamaica, was a Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist. ''Merciless'' is the fourth EP by English industrial metal band Godflesh, released in 1994 through Earache and Columbia. In 1996, the EP was reissued along with the '' Selfless'' (1994) album as the compilation ''Selfless/Merciless''. Content Recorded from 1991 to 1993, ''Merciless'' comprises one rerecorded song, two previously unreleased songs, and a remixed song. The EP's title track, recorded in December 1993, is an updated version of a 1986 Fall of Because song. "Blind" and "Unworthy", tracks 2 and 3 respectively, are both labeled as "Biomechanical Mix" in the EP's liner notes, though no original versions are publicly available. This is the same tag that Godflesh frontman Justin Broadrick applied to the remixes he made for Pantera in 1993 and God in 1995. Most Precious Blood is an American hardcore punk band from New York City formed from the remnants of the band Indecision. They blend the song structures of hardcore with heavy metal, and the band cites Sick of It All, Aphex Twin, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Obsessed as influences, among others. They were signed to Trustkill Records until it dissolved in 2010. They are now with Trustkill president Josh Grabelle's new label Bullet Tooth. Aura Noir is a Norwegian black metal, black/thrash metal band from Oslo. Raymond Anthony Mercer (born April 4, 1961) is a former American professional boxer, kickboxer, and mixed martial artist who competed from 1989 to 2009. Mercer won a heavyweight gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics as an amateur, and later held the WBO heavyweight title in 1991 as a professional, making one successful title defense against Tommy Morrison before vacating his championship.
