Meols Park
Meols Park and Recreation Ground is located in Meols on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The park consists of a small playground area and a larger grassed area, with an area for playing football. The park is situated on School Lane and is bordered by Mumfords Lane, Greenwood Road and Dovepoint Road. The park is also near to the North Wirral Coastal Park. There is a community group, known as the Friends of Meols Park, formed in 2007 whose aim was to refurbish and look after the development of the park. Friends of Meols Park The local community group was established in October 2007. The Friends of Meols Park work in partnership with the Wirral Council Parks Development Team. The group helps to organise community events every September and November. The Sparks In The Park event is a community firework display. The group also contribute to management of the park. Meols
Meols (sometimes known as Great Meols) is a suburb in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. On the north coast of the Wirral Peninsula, it forms a contiguous built up area with the nearby town of Hoylake which lies to the west. Historically in Cheshire, since 1 April 1974 it has been part of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. The 2001 census recorded the population of Meols as 5,110. Wirral Peninsula
The Wirral Peninsula (), known locally as the Wirral, is a peninsula in North West England. The roughly rectangular peninsula is about long and wide, and is bounded by the Dee Estuary to the west, the Mersey Estuary to the east, and Liverpool Bay to the north. Historically, the Wirral was wholly in Cheshire; in the Domesday Book, its border with the rest of the county was placed at "two arrow falls from Chester city walls". North Wirral Coastal Park
The North Wirral Coastal Park, on the Wirral Peninsula in England, is a coastal park including public open space, common land, natural foreshore and sand-dunes. Created in 1986, it lies between Dove Point in Meols and the Kings Parade in New Brighton. Description The park is managed by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral ranger service, from their offices in the Leasowe Lighthouse. It occupies some of land in a four-mile stretch along the coastline, making it Wirral's largest park. Although the park in its current form is relatively new, the history of the site goes back at least 5,000 years to when the area, including the foreshore, was heavily forested.
