Menumbok Forest Reserve
Menumbok is a sub-district in the west of the Malaysian state of Sabah which is also one of the three administrative parts of Kuala Penyu District. This town is also administered as a sub-district within the jurisdiction of the Kuala Penyu district and a minor port of the state of Sabah, which serves as the main gateway to the island of Labuan from the mainland. Kuala Penyu District
The Kuala Penyu District () is an administrative district in the Malaysian state of Sabah, part of the Interior Division which includes the districts of Beaufort, Keningau, Kuala Penyu, Nabawan, Sipitang, Tambunan and Tenom. The capital of the district is in Kuala Penyu Town. History Kuala Penyu was declared as full district in the year 1975 and established as focal point for administrative and business centre. Kuala Penyu
Kuala Penyu Town () is the capital of the Kuala Penyu District in the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. Its population was estimated to be around 659 in 2010, with ethnic Dusun Tatana sub-group forming the largest single ethnic group. Geography Kuala Penyu is located on the Klias Peninsula, which was once originally covered with mangrove swamp forests. Much of these mangrove swamps were destroyed by land developers that later realised that the soils were much too acidic to support palm oil. Labuan–Menumbok Bridge
Labuan–Menumbok Bridge () or Labuan Bridge is a new planned bridge connecting Labuan Island in Federal Territory of Labuan and Menumbok in Sabah, Malaysia. History Proposal and studies The proposal to develop a bridge between Labuan and Sabah has been met with a positive welcomed by both residents in the island and Sabah as well from various local politicians. However at the time, there is still no commitment from the Sabah state government under Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership to develop such project although a China's firm has shown an interest to build the bridge without any cash payment by only giving them a land swap near the proposed bridge area as a return.
