Menno (other)
Menno () is a Dutch masculine given name of Old Frisian origin. It was made popular by the influential Frisian religious reformer Menno Simons, and the name was spread by his followers, the Mennonites. ''Menno'' is the Dutch version of Frisian ''Meine''. Like other Germanic names with ''mein-'', it stems from ''megin-'' "power, strength". Old Frisian Language
Old Frisian was a West Germanic language spoken between the late 13th century and the end of 16th century. It is the common ancestor of all the modern Frisian languages except for the Insular North Frisian dialects, with which Old Frisian shares a common ancestor called Pre–Old Frisian or Proto-Frisian. Old Frisian was spoken by contemporary Frisians who comprised a loose confederacy along the North Sea coast from around modern-day Bruges in Belgium to the Weser in modern-day northern Germany, dominating maritime trade. The vast majority of the surviving literature comprises legal documents and charters, though some poetry, historiographies, and religious documents are attested as well. Menno Koch
Menno Koch (born 2 July 1994) is a Dutch professional association football, footballer who plays as a centre-back for Eliteserien club Sarpsborg 08 FF, Sarpsborg 08. Besides the Netherlands, he has played in Belgium and Bulgaria. Career Koch was born in Heeze. He made his professional debut as Jong PSV player in the Eerste Divisie on 3 August 2013 against Sparta Rotterdam. He scored the 2–2 equalizer with his head in the 76th minute. On 25 February 2021, Koch signed a 3.5-year contract with PFC CSKA Sofia, CSKA Sofia. In June 2024, he left the team upon the expiration of his contract. Menno Willems
Menno Willems (born 10 March 1977) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender and midfielder. He notably played for Vitesse, Ajax and Grimsby Town. He also played for FC Den Bosch, HFC Haarlem, Sparta Rotterdam and Go Ahead Eagles before being forced to retirement at the age of 30. Career Born in Amsterdam, Willems was scouted by Dutch club Ajax and he signed to the Amsterdam-based club when he was a youngster and took the step up to the first team in 1996. After one season of limited chances or football action, Willems left Ajax bound for fellow Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem where he would remain until 1999. Menno Versteeg
Menno Versteeg, also known as Mav Karlo, is a Canadian musician, best known as the frontman for indie rock group Hollerado. Versteeg received a nomination for Recording Package of the Year at the 2014 Juno Awards for his work on Hollerado's ''White Paint''. In 2018 Versteeg became a member of the Canadian supergroup Anyway Gang; they released their first album in November of that year. In 2009 Versteeg co-founded the record label Royal Mountain Records. He received attention for providing a $1,500/band mental health fund from Royal Mountain Records to help bands deal with the stress that can come with touring and performing based on the understanding he gained from his own experiences as he struggled with mental health while on tour. Menno Veldhuis (born 20 November 1974) is a Dutch artist. Biography Veldhuis was born in Groenlo and grew up in Eibergen. Menno Snel (born 29 October 1970) is a Dutch politician. A member of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, he served as State Secretary for Finance from 26 October 2017 until his resignation on 18 December 2019. Menno Emanuël Sluijter (born 31 July 1932, Haarlem) is an anaesthetist from the Netherlands.
