The M-Hero 917 () is a Full-size car, full-size Luxury car, Luxury SUV manufactured by the Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the M-Hero brand. The 917, which is the first vehicle under the M-Hero brand, was introduced in August 2022 and launched the following year. It is also part of the Dongfeng Mengshi family of off-road vehicles. Overview The 917 was previewed by the Mengshi M-Terrain EV SUV concept car. The prototype was introduced in August 2022 during the launch of the independent M-Hero brand, with the production 917 being unveiled in January 2023. M-Hero
M-Hero Technology (Chinese: 东风汽车集团股份有限公司猛士汽车科技公司) is Dongfeng's subsidiary for high performance luxury off-road electric vehicle. The Chinese name of the brand Mengshi (猛士) was inherited from the military vehicle line of Dongfeng. In 2023, the brand unveiled its first full-size luxury off-roader M-Hero 917, a high performance EV/ EREV. To distinguish the M-Hero (猛士科技) and Dongfeng Mengshi (东风猛士) which have similar name in Chinese, the M-hero belongs to Dongfeng Motor Group (DFG), which is a listed company. Dongfeng Mengshi is a family of 4×4 MRAP/off-road vehicles developed by Dongfeng Motor Group. Early generations of the vehicle are built with imported Hummer H1 chassis, while later generations of the vehicles are of indigenous design.
