Memurutindene
Memurutindene is a chain of mountains in the Memurutind massif in Norway. It is located in Lom Municipality in Innlandet county. The massif is home to 13 mountains, many of which have peaks over . Four peaks form the highest parts of the chain: * Store Memurutinden which reaches at the highest point *Austtoppen which reaches at its highest point *Vestre Memurutindane which reaches at its highest point *Austre Memurutinden which reaches at its highest point The mountains surround a glacier field called Austre Memurubrean, and to the south of Vestre Memurutinden is another glacier called Vestre Memurubrean, and to the north of the massif lies the large Veobreen glacier. Store Memurutinden
Store Memurutinden is the eighth-highest mountain in Norway. It is in Lom Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located on the Memurutindene mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about south of the village of Fossbergom and about southwest of the village of Vågåmo. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Leirhøi, Veobreahesten, and Veobretinden to the north; Veotinden to the northeast; Austre Memurutinden to the east; Blåbreahøe and Surtningssue to the southeast; Reinstinden to the south; Søre Hellstugutinden, Nestsøre Hellstugutinden, Store Hellstugutinden, and Midtre Hellstugutinden to the southwest; and Nordre Hellstugutinden to the west. Innlandet
Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date). The new county has an area of , making it the second largest county in Norway after Troms og Finnmark county. The county name translates to "The Inland" which reflects that the county is the only landlocked county in Norway. Lom Municipality ( bg, Община Лом) is a frontier municipality ('' obshtina'') in Montana Province, Northwestern Bulgaria, located along the right bank of Danube river in the Danubian Plain. Glacier
A glacier (; ) is a persistent body of dense ice that is constantly moving under its own weight. A glacier forms where the accumulation of snow exceeds its ablation over many years, often centuries. It acquires distinguishing features, such as crevasses and seracs, as it slowly flows and deforms under stresses induced by its weight. There are 291 peaks in Norway with elevations of over above sea level and that have a topographic prominence of more than 10 meters. The following list includes those 186 that have a topographic prominence of 50 meters or more. The topographic isolation refers to the shortest ''horizontal'' distance one would have to travel to find a higher summit. Location of peaks Most of these peaks are in the municipalities of Lom, Skjåk, Luster, and Vågå, connected to the mountain chain that reaches its prominence with Jotunheimen. There are also several peaks in Dovrefjell, Rondane, Dovre, Lesja, and Folldal that also reach above 2000 meters. Jotunheimen
Jotunheimen (; "the home of the Jötunn") is a mountainous area of roughly in southern Norway and is part of the long range known as the Scandinavian Mountains. The 29 highest mountains in Norway are all located in the Jotunheimen mountains, including the tall mountain Galdhøpiggen (the highest point in Norway). The Jotunheimen mountains straddle the border between Innlandet and Vestland counties (historically part of the old Oppland and Sogn og Fjordane counties). Tourism Jotunheimen is very popular with hikers and climbers, and the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association maintains a number of mountain lodges in the area, as well as marked trails that run between the lodges and others that run up to some of the peaks.
