"Where No Fan Has Gone Before" is the eleventh episode in the fourth season of the American animated television series ''Futurama'', and the 65th episode of the series overall. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on April 21, 2002. Set in a retro-futuristic 31st century, the series follows the adventures of the employees of Planet Express, an interplanetary delivery company. In this episode, the Planet Express team and most of the main cast of '' Star Trek: The Original Series'' face a court-martial after visiting the forbidden planet Omega 3. An existing idea to feature the cast of ''Star Trek: The Original Series'' was scrapped and replaced with a new script written by David A. A court-martial (plural ''courts-martial'' or ''courts martial'', as "martial" is a postpositive adjective) is a military court or a trial conducted in such a court. A court-martial is empowered to determine the guilt of members of the armed forces subject to military law, and, if the defendant is found guilty, to decide upon punishment. In addition, courts-martial may be used to try prisoners of war for war crimes. The Geneva Conventions require that POWs who are on trial for war crimes be subject to the same procedures as would be the holding military's own forces. In fiction, "redshirt" is an informal term for a stock character who is killed off shortly after being introduced. The term often implies that said character was introduced for the sole purpose of being killed off while adding little else to the story, and is sometimes used pejoratively to point out a redshirt's lack of good characterization or the predictability of the character's death. Redshirt deaths are often used to emphasize the potential peril faced by more important characters. Leela (Futurama)
Turanga Leela is a fictional character from the List of animated television series, animated television series ''Futurama''. Leela is spaceship captain, pilot (aeronautics), pilot, and head of all aviation services on board the ''Planet Express Ship''.
