Mellow Mood (band)
Mellow Mood is an Italian reggae band from Pordenone, Italy that formed in 2005. History Mellow Mood first formed in 2005 when most members were in high school together, led by twins Jacopo and Lorenzo Garzia. The band officially debuted in 2009 with their first studio album, ''Move!'', produced by Paolo Baldini, who was later to become their sound architect. The album was intended to be their first "move" on the reggae scene and gained unexpected international success. Thanks to their heartfelt live shows, Rototom Sunsplash named Mellow Mood "best Italian reggae band", and ranked them third at European level in the same year. The two singles off the album, "Only You" and "Dance Inna Babylon", now have a total of more than fifty million views on YouTube. After a line-up change, Mellow Mood went back into the studio with Baldini to record ''Well Well Well'', and were signed by Italy's most important independent label, La Tempesta, in 2012. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. Tre allegri ragazzi morti (''Three cheerful dead boys'' in Italian, often stylized as TARM) is an Italian indie rock band formed in Pordenone, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in 1994. History Guitarist and comic artist Davide Toffolo started to play music in the late '70s, when Pordenone became one of the most important cities for the Italian punk rock scene, due to its closeness to the American military base of Aviano. At the time, there was a movement of young musicians called ''Great Complotto'', which gave birth to several small punk rock and new wave groups. They all had a short life, but the line-up of one of them, ''Futuritmi'' (1983–1990), featured Davide Toffolo and Gian Maria Accusani, leader of the later famous band Prozac+. Janine Elizabeth Cunningham (born 23 May 1983), better known as Jah9, is a Jamaican singer and also a yoga teacher. Biography Jah9 was born in Montego Bay in Saint James, Jamaica. ''The Tempest'' (Italian ''La Tempesta'') is a Renaissance painting by the Italian master Giorgione dated between 1506 and 1508. The Sziget Festival ( hu, Sziget Fesztivál, ; "Sziget" for "Island") is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It is held every August in northern Budapest, Hungary, on Óbudai-sziget ("Old Buda Island"), a leafy 108-hectare (266-acre) island on the Danube. More than 1,000 performances take place each year. Rototom Sunsplash
Rototom Sunsplash is a large European reggae festival which takes place every summer at Benicàssim, a few miles north of Valencia in Spain. Since 1994, it attracts thousands of reggae fans from all over the world, thanks to a vast cultural and musical program that lasts for up to ten days. History 1991-1999: Rototom Association and the clubs in Gaio and Zoppola The birthplace of the festival is the small Italian town of Gaio di Spilimbergo, province of Pordenone, in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, close to Venice. On 13 December 1991, the Rototom Cultural Association was born and with it a nightclub of the same name. It was an alternative music scene showcasing various styles from punk rock to reggae, indie, and electronic music.
