Mellow Fellow
Mellow Fellow is the stage name of lo-fi music singer/songwriter Ralph Lawrence "Polo" Reyes. Background A self-described "internet artist," Reyes has released three albums as Mellow Fellow. He gained notoriety in the burgeoning online bedroom pop scene with the release of his 2017 single "Dancing" and the subsequent release of the single "How Was Your Day?", a collaboration with indie pop singer Clairo. He also collaborated with dream pop duo Vansire on their 2018 album ''Angel Youth''. In 2019 he toured the US with frequent musical collaborator Ruru, following an Asia tour earlier in the year. Dream Pop
Dream pop (also typeset as dreampop) is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb, echo, tremolo, and chorus. Claire Elizabeth Cottrill (born August 18, 1998), known professionally as Clairo, is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Carlisle, Massachusetts, she began posting music on the internet at age 13. Vansire is a dream pop band from Rochester, Minnesota consisting of Josh Augustin and Sam Winemiller. They are currently signed to Spirit Goth Records. Vansire has performed at ROCKChester and First Avenue, played a live session with Audiotree, and collaborated with artists such as Chester Watson, Jeremiah Jae, and Mick Jenkins. History Formation Vansire formed as band members Josh Augustin (vocals, synths, guitar, and drums) and Sam Winemiller (bass, guitar, and synths) were attending Century High School in Rochester, Minnesota. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
