Melissa Moon
Melissa Potocka Moon (born 16 September 1969) is a Long-distance track event, long-distance Running, runner from Wellington, New Zealand. She is a two time World Mountain Running champion and has won 21 New Zealand athletics titles over her career. In 2001, she was named New Zealand Sportswoman of the Year. In 2008, she was named as one of the Junior Chamber International, JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP). In 2010, Moon won the women's race up the 86 flights of stairs of the Empire State Building, in a time of 13 minutes and 13 seconds. In the 2021 New Year Honours (New Zealand), 2021 New Year Honours, Moon was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to athletics and charitable causes. Leilani Rorani (formerly Joyce, née Marsh; born 15 April 1974) is a New Zealand former squash player. During her professional career, she reached the world number 1 ranking, won the British Open in 1999 and 2000, and finished runner-up at the World Open in 2000 and 2001. Barbara Anne Kendall (born 30 August 1967) is a former boardsailor from New Zealand. She competed at five Summer Olympic Games and won gold, silver and bronze medals. Biography Kendall was born in Papakura on 30 August 1967, the daughter of Tony and Peggy Kendall. She was raised in the Auckland suburb of Bucklands Beach and attended Macleans College. She won a gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, silver medal in 1996 (in Atlanta, Georgia), and a bronze medal in 2000 (in Sydney). The Halberg Awards are a set of awards, given annually since 1949, recognising New Zealand's top sporting achievements. They are named for New Zealand middle-distance runner and Olympic gold medalist Sir Murray Halberg.
