Angelo Meli
Angelo Meli (; February 10, 1897 – December 1, 1969) was an Italian-American mobster who became a consigliere and then leading Chairman of the Detroit Partnership criminal organization of La Cosa Nostra. Early life Angelo Meli was born on February 10, 1897, in San Cataldo, Sicily, the youngest son of 13 children born to Vincenzo Meli and Maria Antonia Gugaglio. Meli immigrated to the United States at the age of 17, settling in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to work as a coal miner. He worked in a Pittsburgh foundry and moved to Detroit in 1918. In Detroit, Meli worked as a baker and restaurateur. Throughout his time there, he owned a bakery, two restaurants, and the Whip Cafe, which he owned with "Black" Leo Cellura, another member of the Detroit Partnership. Francis Meli (born 27 April 1979) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. A Samoa and New Zealand international representative centre or winger, he played in the National Rugby League for New Zealand club, Auckland Warriors before playing in the Super League for English clubs, St Helens R.F.C., St Helens and Salford Red Devils, Salford. Giovanni Meli (4 March 1740 – 20 December 1815) was an Italian poet. Meli was born in Palermo. After studying philosophy and medicine he worked as a doctor in Cinisi in the province of Palermo. It was during this early period of his life that he discovered the bucolic poets and the poetic value of his native Sicilian language, which he used thereafter in all of his literary works. There is a Monument to Giovanni Meli in Piazza Stazione Lolli in Palermo, Sicily. Works His first published piece, ''La Bucolica'' (1766-1772), was inspired by ''Arcadia'' by Jacopo Sannazaro. Methyllithium is the simplest organolithium reagent, with the empirical formula LiCH3. This s-block organometallic compound adopts an oligomeric structure both in solution and in the solid state. This highly reactive compound, invariably used in solution with an ether as the solvent, is a reagent in organic synthesis as well as organometallic chemistry. ''Amomyrtus meli'', known as meli, is a species of tree in the family Myrtaceae. It is endemic to Chile and grows from Arauco to Chiloe (37 to 42°S). It grows mostly on moist and shaded sites. Description It is an evergreen tree that measures up to 20 m (65 ft) tall and up to 60 cm (23 in) in diameter, with smooth, decorticant bark of reddish-whitish color. The leaves are opposite, oval, lanceolate or elliptical with acute apex which ends in a mucro up to 1 mm long. The leaves are 2–5 long and 0.7–2.5 cm wide, the petioles are 2–4 mm long. Meli Park was a theme park which was opened in 1935 in Adinkerke in the municipality of De Panne on the Belgium, Belgian coast. History The bee-themed amusement park was initiated by Alberic-Joseph Florizoone, owner of a honey company. Its mascot was a bee. It was one of the first Belgian theme parks. Over the years some new attractions were added. The first ones were the labyrinth and the zoo.
