Melbourne Phoenix
Melbourne Phoenix were an netball in Australia, Australian netball team that represented Netball Victoria in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy. Between 1997 in Australia, 1997 and 2007 in Australia, 2007, together with Melbourne Kestrels, they were one of two teams to represent Netball Victoria in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era. Phoenix were the inaugural CBT champions and went on to become the competition's most successful team, winning five premierships. In 2008 ANZ Championship season, 2008, when the Commonwealth Bank Trophy was replaced by the ANZ Championship, Phoenix and Kestrels merged to form Melbourne Vixens. Netball New South Wales is the governing body for netball in New South Wales. It is affiliated to Netball Australia. It is responsible for organizing and managing two elite level teams, New South Wales Swifts and Giants Netball, who compete in Suncorp Super Netball. Ingrid Dick (born 14 January 1972, in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian netball player. Playing career She played 141 matches in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy for the Melbourne Phoenix from 1997 to 2007. She is one of only 3 players to participate in 5 Commonwealth Bank Trophy Premierships. Dick moved across Australia to take a pivotal leadership role with the West Coast Fever, based in Perth, for the inaugural ANZ Championship in 2008. She is not playing in the 2009 season. Chelsey Tregear (also known as Chelsey Nash) is a former Australian netball player in the ANZ Championship, formerly playing for the Melbourne Vixens. Career Tregear is a versatile netballer capable of covering WA, C and GA. After co-captaining the Melbourne Kestrels in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy. She missed selection for the inaugural season of the ANZ Championship in 2008. She captained Victorian Fury to success in the Australian Netball League in 2008. Eloise Southby-Halbish
Eloise Southby-Halbish (born 6 July 1976) is an Australian sports commentator and former netball player. She was co-captain of the Melbourne Phoenix with fellow goaler, Sharelle McMahon, and also played for the Australia national netball team. Netball career Southby-Halbish appeared in 132 Commonwealth Bank Trophy matches for the Phoenix and represented Australia in 34 Tests in the positions goal shooter and goal attack. Identified early in her career as a highly talented shooting prospect, Southby-Halbish made her international debut in early 1998, at the age of 21. Sharelle McMahon
Sharelle Jane McMahon (born 12 August 1977) is an Australian former netball player who captained the Australia national netball team. She played in the goal attack and goal shooter positions. Domestic career Born in Bamawm, Victoria, McMahon captained the Melbourne Vixens in the ANZ Championship and played 11 seasons for the Melbourne Phoenix (as a captain for four seasons) in the previous Commonwealth Bank Trophy. She led the Vixens to the ANZ Championship title in 2009, defeating the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the grand final. Simone McKinnis
Simone McKinnis is a former Australia netball international and the current head coach of Melbourne Vixens in Suncorp Super Netball. As a player she was a member of the Australia teams that won gold medals at the 1991 and 1995 World Netball Championships, the 1993 World Games and the 1998 Commonwealth Games. She also captained the Melbourne Phoenix team that won the 1997 Commonwealth Bank Trophy. She was head coach when Vixens won the 2014 ANZ Championship and the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball titles. Cynna Kydd (née Neele; born 18 September 1981 in Kyabram, Victoria) is a former Australian professional netball player. Kydd achieved some success in netball and swimming in her early life, and played in the Dairy Farmers State League at the age of 16. She was also selected for the national under-21 team in 1999 and was accepted by the Australian Institute of Sport, before launching her professional career. Renae Hallinan
Renae Ingles (née Hallinan) (born 18 July 1986 in Melbourne, Australia) is a former Australia netball international who played in 67 tests for Australia. Career Ingles was primarily a wing-defence and centre player. She started her career with the Melbourne Phoenix and played with them for five seasons in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, before joining the Melbourne Vixens in 2008 in the new ANZ Championships. In 2009, she was an integral member of the Melbourne Vixens lineup that won the Vixens' first ANZ Championship title. She moved to the Adelaide Thunderbirds for the 2012 and 2013 season. Julie Corletto
Julie Prendergast (born 31 October 1986) is an Australian international netball player. She played for the Australian Diamonds, Melbourne Vixens and NSW Swifts but has now retired. She usually played in the positions of goal defence and wing defence. Prendergast is the younger sister of former AFL footballer Ian Prendergast and former Victorian State netballer Karen Dennis, (née Prendergast). Career Prendergast started playing netball at aged 10 in her home town of Kerang. Natasha Chokljat
Natasha Chokljat (born 27 April 1979 in Tasmania) is a former Australian netball player. She has played international netball as a member of the Australian national team, and has played in the ANZ Championship for the Melbourne Vixens and the New Zealand side the Southern Steel. However, she has not signed for any club since 2012. She is of Croatian and Serbian descent. Domestic career Chokljat was first called up to the Australian U21 netball team in 1998.
