Melancholy (Shadow Of Intent Album)
''Melancholy'' is the third album by deathcore band Shadow of Intent. The album was released on August 16, 2019. It is their first album with Andrew Monias on bass, and their only album with Anthony Barone on drums before he was replaced by Bryce Butler of Contrarian. ''Melancholy'' marked a departure from writing strictly ''Halo''-themed music, instead being what has been described as a concept album depicting mass suicides orchestrated by a demonic goddess. An instrumental version of ''Melancholy'' was also released on November 22, 2019. Francesco Ferrini of Fleshgod Apocalypse contributed to the orchestral work on this album. Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy handled engineering duties. The cover artwork was made by Pär Olofsson, known for his work with Exodus, Immortal, and The Faceless. Shadow Of Intent
Shadow of Intent is an American deathcore band from Connecticut. They formed in 2013 as a ''Halo''-themed studio project by Ben Duerr and Chris Wiseman. The band's name is a reference to a Covenant ship in the ''Halo'' series. They are not signed to a label and have released their albums independently. They have released four studio albums to date, along with two instrumental versions of previous releases, and a deluxe album. Their fourth studio album entitled ''Elegy'' was released independently on January 14, 2022. The Black Dahlia Murder is an American melodic death metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2001. Their name is derived from the 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, often referred to as Black Dahlia. Currently, the band consists of lead vocalist Brian Eschbach, bassist Max Lavelle, drummer Alan Cassidy, and guitarists Brandon Ellis and Ryan Knight. The Black Dahlia Murder has undergone various lineup changes, with Trevor Strnad and Eschbach remaining the only constant members, until the former's death in 2022, which then saw Eschbach take over lead vocals. Brand Of Sacrifice
Brand of Sacrifice is a Canadian deathcore band from Toronto formed in 2018. The band was inspired by the work of manga artist Kentaro Miura, specifically his '' Berserk'' series and has based much of their music on his works. Founded in 2018, they released their debut EP the same year, titled "The Interstice". The following year, they released their first album, ''God Hand''. In 2021, they independently released their sophomore studio album ''Lifeblood'', which was met with positive reception. Later that year, they collaborated with Lorna Shore vocalist Will Ramos on a re-release of their song "Lifeblood". The band released their second EP, "Between Death and Dreams", in April 2023 which contains four songs. The Faceless are an American technical death metal band from the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. They released their debut album, ''Akeldama'', in November 2006, and a follow-up, ''Planetary Duality'', in November 2008. The band's third album, '' Autotheism'', was released on August 14, 2012. Immortal is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen. The group was founded in 1991 by frontman and guitarist Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo) and guitarist Demonaz Doom Occulta (Harald Nævdal). The pair worked with various drummers (including Grim, Armagedda and Hellhammer), and were later joined by former drummer Horgh (Reidar Horghagen) in 1996. In March 2015, long-serving member Abbath announced his departure from the group following a dispute with the other members of the band, and he went on to form a new band under his name called Abbath. Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. Their current lineup consists of guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bassist Jack Gibson, drummer Tom Hunting, and lead vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza. There are no original members left in Exodus other than Hunting, who has departed from the band twice, in 1989 and 2004, but rejoined in 2007. Exodus is also notable for its inclusion of guitarist Kirk Hammett in its initial lineup; he eventually left the band in 1983 to join Metallica as Dave Mustaine's replacement. Cryptopsy is a Canadian technical death metal band from Montreal, formed in 1988. History Necrosis (1988–1992) Necrosis was formed in April 1988 by drummer Mike Atkin, guitarist Steve Thibault and vocalist Dan "Lord Worm" Greening, initially under the name Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Fleshgod Apocalypse is an Italian symphonic death metal band. Formed in 2007, the group resides in Perugia and are currently signed to Nuclear Blast. They have released five full-length albums. History Formation and ''Oracles'' (2007–2009) Fleshgod Apocalypse was formed in April 2007 by Francesco Paoli (formerly frontman of the band Hour of Penance).
