Meistriliiga
Meistriliiga (), officially known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons, and commonly known as the Premium Liiga, is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. After each season, the bottom team is relegated to the Esiliiga, the Estonian second division league. The second last team plays a two-legged play-off with the second team in the Esiliiga for a place in the Meistriliiga. FC Flora, commonly known as Flora Tallinn, or simply as Flora, is an Estonian professional Association football, football club based in Tallinn that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football league system, Estonian football. The club's home ground is Lilleküla Stadium. Formed in 1990, Flora were founding members of the Meistriliiga, and is one of two clubs which have never been relegated from the Estonian top division, along with JK Narva Trans, Narva Trans. Flora is the first and only Estonian football club to have played in the group stage of a UEFA club competition, having achieved this in the 2021–22 UEFA Europa Conference League season. Football Club Infonet Levadia Tallinn, commonly known as FCI Levadia, or simply as Levadia, is a professional Association football , football club based in Tallinn that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football league system, Estonian football. The club's home ground is Lilleküla Stadium. Founded in 1998 in Maardu, the club moved to Tallinn in 2000 and officially affiliated themselves with the capital city in 2004. In 2017, Levadia's first team merged with FCI Tallinn, and became FCI Levadia. Jalgpalliklubi Narva Trans, commonly known as Narva Trans or simply Trans, is an Estonian professional Association football, football club based in Narva that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football league system, Estonian football. Although the club's traditional home ground is Narva Kreenholm Stadium, Kreenholm Stadium, they currently play their home matches at Narva Kalev-Fama Stadium, Kalev-Fama Stadium. FC Kuressaare, commonly known as Kuressaare, is an Estonian professional football club based in Kuressaare, Saaremaa island. The club's home ground is Kuressaare linnastaadion. Founded on 14 March 1997, the club competes in the Meistriliiga, the top tier of Estonian football. Kuressaare debuted in the Estonian top division in 2000 and were known as a yo-yo club throughout the first decade of the 21st century, as they were promoted and relegated for eight consecutive seasons. 2020 Meistriliiga
The 2020 Meistriliiga (known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 30th season of the Meistriliiga, the top Estonian league for association football clubs. The season began on 6 March 2020, but was suspended after the first round due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league continued on 19 May 2020. The season concluded on 6 December, with the last match between Flora and FCI Levadia cancelled due to COVID-19 cases in both teams. The defending champions Flora successfully defended their title, winning second title in a row and their 13th in total. Teams Ten teams competed in the league, nine sides from the 2019 season and 2019 Esiliiga champions TJK Legion. 2023 Meistriliiga
The 2023 Meistriliiga, also known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga due to sponsorship reasons, was the 33rd season of the Meistriliiga, the top Estonian league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1992. It was the first Meistriliiga season with video assistant referee (VAR). The winners (Flora, their second consecutive title and fifteenth overall) qualified for the 2024–25 Champions League first qualifying round. The runners-up ( FCI Levadia), third-placed team ( Tallinna Kalev), and fourth-placed team ( Paide Linnameeskond) qualified for the 2024–25 Conference League first qualifying round. 2018 Meistriliiga
The 2018 Meistriliiga (known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 28th season of the Meistriliiga, the highest division of Estonian football system. The season was scheduled to begin on 25 February 2018, but was postponed due to a cold wave. On 3 March, the season began with four out of five second round matches held in indoor arena. This marked the first time Estonian league football was played indoor. The season concluded on 10 November 2018. Flora were the defending champions. Nõmme Kalju won their 2nd Meistriliiga title completing an entire season undefeated. Teams 10 teams competed in the league. Sillamäe Kalev lost their Meistriliiga license due to a failure to meet their financial obligations and were relegated to the II liiga. Esiliiga
The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. The Esiliiga is ranked below the Meistriliiga and above the Esiliiga B. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. The league features several reserve teams of Meistriliiga clubs. According to the rules set by the Estonian Football Association, reserve teams are ineligible for promotion to the Meistriliiga, but can play in the Estonian Cup. Competition format During the season, the teams play each of the other four times twice at home and twice away. This makes for a total of 36 games played each season. The teams gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a defeat. Promotion and relegation between divisions is a central feature of the league. Andre Frolov
Andre Frolov (born 18 April 1988) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Estonian Esiliiga club Nõmme United. Since 2024, he holds the record for most appearances in Meistriliiga. Club career Flora Frolov started playing football with Flora's youth academy. He spent several years playing for various reserve and feeder teams affiliated with Flora, before becoming a regular with the main team. He won his first Meistriliiga title with Flora in the 2010 season, and his second one in the 2011 season, having scored 3 goals. He went on to score another 10 goals in the following 2012 Meistriliiga season and becoming an integral part of the first team as Flora finished in third place. On 19 October 2012, Frolov was appointed as Flora captain for the remainder of season. In the 2015 season, Frolov won his third Meistriliiga title.
