Mein Clan
The Mein tribe of the Ijaw people lives along the Forcados River in Delta State, Nigeria. The Mein trace their origins to Benin City, via parts of the central Niger Delta. Important Mein settlements include Ogobiri and Kiagbodo. Most of the Mein live along the Forcados River in Burutu and Bomadi Local Government Areas of Delta state, with Kiagbodo as the most conspicuous settlement. As indicated by Mein customs, the eponymous progenitor, Mein lived at Benin and moved to Aboh to keep away from wars. Ijaw People
The Ijaw people, also known as the Izon people, are an ethnic group found in the Niger Delta region in Nigeria, with primary Population, population clusters in Bayelsa State, Bayelsa, Delta State, Delta, and Rivers State, Rivers. Forçados River
The Forçados River (originally Forcados) is a channel in the Niger Delta, in southern Nigeria. It flows for approximately and meets the sea at the Bight of Benin in Delta State. It is an important channel for small ships. The Forçados River splits from the Niger River at Toru-Abubou near Agbere Town in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the same point as the Nun River. People have been fishing on this river for years and then came to a dock on the Niger River to sell/store and use for personal consumption. In the early years of the 20th century, Forçados was a destination port for steamers from England until the river silted up.
