Emilie Enger Mehl (born 8 August 1993) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. She has served as minister of justice since 2021 and Member of parliament for Hedmark since 2017. Personal life and education Mehl was born in Lørenskog on 8 August 1993, a daughter of Eivind Mehl and Ellen Enger Müller. She holds a Master of laws (LL.M.) from the University of Oslo Faculty of Law. Career Parliament Mehl was elected representative to the Storting for the period 2017–2021 for the Centre Party. Maurice Goldsmith Mehl (1887 - 1966) was an American paleontologist and professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Missouri. Life and career Mehl was born on December 25, 1887, to Frank and Rebecca Goldsmith Mehl. After graduation from Burlingame High School, he attended the University of Chicago, where he completed a B.S. in 1911 and a Ph.D. in 1914. While at Chicago, he met Lucy Jane Hull and they were married in 1912. At Chicago, Mehl studied vertebrate paleontology under the instruction of prominent paleontologist Samuel Wendell Williston. He taught at Chicago for awhile as well as at University of Wisconsin, University of Oklahoma, and Denison University before joining the University of Missouri in 1919. Lance Alan Mehl (born February 14, 1958) is a former professional American football player. He played eight seasons for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL), from 1980 to 1987. The Mehl-Mülhens-Rennen is a Group 2 flat horse race in Germany open to three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies. It is run at Cologne over a distance of 1,600 metres (about 1 mile), and it is scheduled to take place each year in May. It is Germany's equivalent of the 2,000 Guineas Stakes, a famous race in England. History The event was established in 1871, and it was originally held at Hoppegarten as the Henckel-Rennen. It was named after the Henckel von Donnersmarck family. It was initially contested over 2,000 metres, and it was shortened to 1,600 metres in 1904. It was staged at Grunewald from 1918 to 1922, and it returned to Hoppegarten in 1923. Career Mehl was Member of the rowing club "am Baldeneysee" in Essen, Germany. In 1987 and 1988 she and Meike Holländer formed a coxless pair team at the German Championship and scored second.
