Mehdin Hodžić
Mehdin Hodžić aka Kapetan Senad (October 15, 1957 – May 10, 1992) was a Bosnian military officer and a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Hero of the Liberation War and the Order of the Golden Lily. He was also called Kapetan Labud (''Captain Swan'') or Crni labud (''Black Swan'') while commanding the special forces Black Swans. Biography Mehdin Hodžić was born in Tuzla on October 15, 1957, in the family of father Selmo and mother Hurija. He spent his childhood in the Tuzla settlement Šićki Brod. After completing primary and secondary education in his native region, he enrolled in the Faculty of Sports in Sarajevo. Hajrudin Mešić
Hajrudin Mešić aka Kapetan Hajro (January 1, 1959 – October 30, 1992) was a Bosnian military commander and brigadier general in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. Early life Hajrudin Mešić was born on New Year's Day 1959 in the village of Srednja Trnova, municipality of Ugljevik. In the Mešić family, in addition to father Meho and mother Zejfa, Hajrudin had a brother and two sisters. He completed eight-year school in Srednja and Donja Trnova. After finishing elementary school, he attended and graduated from the JNA non-commissioned officer school in Sarajevo. During his service in the JNA, he graduated part-time from the JNA military academy in Belgrade and received the rank of captain. War period The war in the territory of the former Yugoslavia found him in the rank of captain, in the service of the JNA in Karlovac, Croatia. The Territorial Defence Force of the Republic of Bosnia and Hercegovina () were the first official armed forces of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of the Bosnian War. They were eventually transformed into the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. History Teritorijalna odbrana (TO) was the name of a local defence reserve force in the former Yugoslav People's Army. Patriotic League (Bosnia And Herzegovina)
The Patriotic League () was the first paramilitary unit of Territorial Defence Force of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (TORBiH). History On 19 December 1990 Alija Izetbegović and the SDA party discussed forming an independent paramilitary separate from the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). In March 1991 Sefer Halilović formed the Patriotic League (Patriotska Liga - PL) as an independent Bosnian army, with the same territorial organization as Territorial Defense Forces (TO). Later on, the Patriotic League was connected to the TO. The Patriotic League, alongside the TORBiH, would later become the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Order Of Hero Of The Liberation War
The Order of the Hero of the Liberation War () was the highest military decoration of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. Nine members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina were awarded the honor posthumously. Under the same conditions, the Order could have been received by military units and institutions. The medal is made of metal: silver Ag 999/1000, gold-plated with Au 24kt, and has 45 sapphires. The dimensions of the order are approx. 100×60mm.
