Megan Rooney
Megan Rooney (born 1985) is a South African-born, London-based artist who creates paintings, sculptures, installations, performances and poetry. Rooney is known for integrating contrasting disciplines, such as painting, sculpture performance, into a single work. She received her MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2011 and, prior to that, completed her BA at the University of Toronto in Canada. Her work has been shown in solo museum exhibitions at the Salzburger Kunstverein, Salzburg (2020–21); Museum of Contemporary Art, Toronto (2020); and Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (2019). Her performances include ''SUN DOWN MOON UP'', as part of the Park Nights programme at Serpentine Galleries, London in 2018; and ''EVERYWHERE BEEN THERE'', created in collaboration with choreographer Temitope Ajose-Cutting and musician Paolo Thorsen-Nagel, at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in 2019 and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Toronto in 2020. Goldsmiths, University of London, officially the Goldsmiths' College, is a constituent research university of the University of London in England. It was originally founded in 1891 as The Goldsmiths' Technical and Recreative Institute by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in New Cross, London. It was renamed Goldsmiths' College after being acquired by the University of London in 1904 and specialises in the arts, design, humanities and social sciences. Thaddaeus Ropac are a group of galleries founded in 1981 by the Austrian gallerist Thaddaeus Ropac and has since specialized in International Contemporary Art. Kettle's Yard is an art gallery and house in Cambridge, England. The director of the art gallery is Andrew Nairne. Both the house and gallery reopened in February 2018 after an expansion of the facilities. Kettle's Yard galleries, shop and cafe are open Tuesday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm. ''I/O'' (stylized as ''i/o'') is the upcoming tenth studio album by the English rock musician Peter Gabriel, scheduled to be released in late 2023 by Real World Records. It will be his first full-length album of new original material in over 21 years since his 2002 album '' Up''. His more recent albums ''Scratch My Back'' and '' New Blood'' contain covers and rearrangements of older material. Since 2002, Gabriel occasionally commented on a follow-up album to be titled ''I/O'', but it has only surfaced in recent years. Starting on 6 January 2023, Gabriel has released a new single every full moon, planning to culminate in the album's release at the end of the year.
