Megan Keith
Megan Keith (born 23 April 2002) is a Scottish track and field athlete and cross country runner. In 2023, she became the European U23 champion over 5000 metres. Career Early career During her teenage years, Keith competed in orienteering and won European and World Youth Championship gold medals in the sport, before starting to focus on running at around the ages of 16-17. In 2018, at her international orienteering debut, she became the first ever female to win a gold medal for Great Britain at the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Bulgaria, winning the sprint event by a huge margin of 34 seconds. In 2019, Keith went on to be part of the British relay team that won the Junior World Orienteering Championships in Denmark, the first ever British gold medal in the competition. Track And Field
Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions comprising fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The series sits in the top tier of the World Athletics (formerly known as the IAAF) one-day meeting competitions. The inaugural season was in 2010. It was designed to replace the IAAF Golden League, which had been held annually since 1998. The full sponsorship name is the Wanda Diamond League, the result of an agreement with Wanda Group that was announced in December 2019. Eloise Walker (born 27 May 2001) is a British track and field athlete who competes as a middle distance, long distance and cross county runner. Career Walker set a new Scottish under-20 record in the 3000m in February 2020, running a time of 9:21.30 seconds. Later that month, at the British Indoor Championships, in Glasgow, she set a new indoor personal best in the 1500m of 4:23.32 seconds, finishing in fifth place in the final. That winter, she joined the Andy Young led training-squad that also contained compatriots Laura Muir and Jemma Reekie. Walker represented Scotland in the 5000m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships took place on 18 February 2023 in Bathurst, Australia. It was the event's 44th edition and the second time after Auckland in 1988 that the championships were held in Oceania. In March 2020 the course was revealed, to be held in the infield of the Mount Panorama Circuit. In December 2020, the event was postponed from 2021 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Australian travel restrictions.
