Meendum Savithri
''Meendum Savithri'' () is a 1996 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Visu and produced by Nagi Reddi. It stars Revathi, Saranya Ponvannan, Nizhalgal Ravi and Raja, with Ramesh Aravind, Visu, Nagesh, Jai Ganesh, Annapurna, Seetha and Pandu playing supporting roles. The film, released on 9 February 1996, is based on Visu's novel of the same name that was serialised in ''Ananda Vikatan'', and bombed at the box-office. It was simultaneously made in Telugu as ''Neti Savithri'' () with Gollapudi Maruti Rao replacing Visu. Plot Manju is an outspoken woman and she works in a small company. Visu
Meenakshisundaram Ramasamy Viswanathan (1 July 1945 – 22 March 2020), best known by his stage name Visu, was an Indian screenwriter, film director, stage, film and television actor and talk-show host. Visu initially worked as an assistant to director K. Balachander until becoming a director himself. He later began acting, with his first film being '' Kudumbam Oru Kadambam'' (1981), directed by S. P. Muthuraman. Career He started his career as a theatre artist, working with Y. G. Parthasarathy's drama troupe. He was writing scripts for stage dramas before getting into the film industry as an assistant to legendary director K. Balachander. Piraisoodan (6 February 1956 – 8 October 2021) was a Tamil poet and lyricist. He won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Lyricist for his songs in movies like '' Thayagam'', '' En Rasavin Manasile'' and ''Neeyum Naanum'' in 1996, 1991 and 2010 respectively. He was a director in IPRS (Indian Performing Rights Society) and was holding many key posts including secretary of SWAN (South Indian Writers Association). Narasimhan (c. 1936 - 12 March 2009), popularly known as Omakuchi, was an Indian stage and film actor. He acted in over 1,500 films in 14 Indian languages, predominantly in Tamil. Ganga (1960 – 10 November 2023) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films as a leading and supporting actor. Career Ganga made his acting debut through ''Kadavulukku Oru Kaditham'' (1982), portraying a supporting role. His career breakthrough came through T. Rajender's romantic drama ''Uyirullavarai Usha'' (1983), where he portrayed a lead role alongside Rajender and Saritha. The film won critical acclaim upon release, and performed well at the box office. In the mid-1980s, Ganga continued to take on a mix of lead and supporting roles in the Tamil film industry.
