Mediterranean Harbor
Mediterranean Harbor is a themed area in Tokyo DisneySea, the second park in the Tokyo Disney Resort, located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo, which opened in 2001. Mediterranean Harbor is the entrance "port-of-call," or hub, themed as an Italian port city named "Porto Paradiso", complete with Venetian gondolas that guests can ride. The majority of places of interest throughout the port are various shops and restaurants. Theming and layout Mediterranean Harbor's layout differs from the entry lands of other Disney parks as it is a large "V" shape rather than the main street that leads to a hub (as found in Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A. or Disney's Hollywood Studios' Hollywood Boulevard). ''Fantasmic!'' is a nighttime show at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The show formerly operated at Tokyo DisneySea. It features fireworks, characters, live actors, water effects, pyrotechnics, lasers, music, audio-animatronics, searchlights, decorated boat floats, and mist screen projections. The narrative of ''Fantasmic!'' is a voyage through Mickey Mouse's imagination that culminates in a battle against the Disney Villains. ''BraviSEAmo!'' (''ブラヴィッシーモ! Buravisshiimo!'') was a nighttime water show at Tokyo DisneySea. The show featured water, pyrotechnic, and firework effects and was performed on the lagoon of the Mediterranean Harbor. The show was directed by Yves Pépin from ECA2 and used little dialogue, instead featuring an orchestral score by Gavin Greenaway. Guests are asked by the gondoliers to say "Ciao!" to other gondola guests or the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line guests. The gondoliers also sing a song as the gondola returns to the loading area. Fortress Explorations (フォートレス・エクスプレーション) is a walk-through attraction at Tokyo DisneySea. Summary This fortress-themed attraction is located on the west side of Mediterranean Harbor. Within the attraction guests can walk around the fortress grounds freely, which contains a Focault pendulum, an astral observatory, the sailing ship ''Renaissance'', flying machines, an alchemy lab, a navigation center, an optical illusion room, and a Hall of Explorers honoring various historical figures.
