Mechocracy
"Mechocracy" is the fourth episode of '' Red Dwarf XII'' and the 71st in the series run. The machines aboard ''Red Dwarf'' grow concerned nobody has their interest in mind, and an election is held between Rimmer and Kryten to determine their new representative. Synopsis ''Red Dwarf'' goes into yellow alert, a personal favorite of Rimmer's, where the ship has to respond to an SOS call from another ship. Lister downloads the other ship's data; however, it turns out to really be an "SOS virus" and, due to Lister not downloading it onto a quarantined drive, it has infected the ''Red Dwarf'' computer system with harmful malware, forcing the crew to abandon the ship, which has started drifting towards a black hole. David Ross (actor)
David Ross (born 19 January 1945) is an English actor who has worked in theatre, cinema and television. His best-known roles include playing the first Kryten and the second Talkie Toaster in science-fiction comedy ''Red Dwarf'', Elgin Sparrowhawk in the BBC One sitcom '' The Green Green Grass'', and as Mr. Sedley in a 1998 serial adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray's novel '' Vanity Fair''. After experiencing a strange time phenomenon, the crew must venture onboard a starship from the 24th century to stop them from crashing into an oncoming gas moon, only to be hindered by its unorthodox anti-criticism law. Just to be safe, Kryten uploads a health-monitoring chip, Chippy, into his bloodstream. However, Chippy ends up exploding and Kryten launches an investigation into the matter. "Timeslides" is the fifth episode of science fiction sit-com ''Red Dwarf'' Series III, and the seventeenth in the series run. It premiered on the British television channel BBC2 on 12 December 1989. Written by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor, and directed by Ed Bye, the plot deals with Lister's desire to change his life by going back in time and changing his past. The episode was re-mastered, along with the rest of the first three series, in 1998. Plot Dave Lister ( Craig Charles) confides with Cat (Danny John-Jules) and Arnold Rimmer (Chris Barrie) that he has become bored with their various games, and has begun to hate his life on ''Red Dwarf''. "The End" is the first episode of science fiction sitcom ''Red Dwarf'', which was first broadcast on the British television channel BBC2 on 15 February 1988. The episode introduces the main characters and sets up the story backbone of the series. On the mining ship ''Red Dwarf'', Dave Lister is placed in stasis for refusing to give up the whereabouts of his forbidden pet cat. When he emerges from stasis, three million years later, he discovers that everybody has died from a radiation leak.
