Measured Records is a Scottish independent record label which forms part of the hub that is the Measured Group. Also included are No Half Measures Ltd. Cosmic Rough Riders
The Cosmic Rough Riders are an alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They were originally formed in 1998 by Daniel Wylie and Stephen Fleming, and later they were joined by Mark Brown, James Clifford, Gary Cuthbert and Paul Docherty. To date they have recorded five albums, and had four singles in the UK top 40. Recording history They self-released the albums ''Deliverance'' (1999) and ''Panorama'' (2000), both having been recorded in a community funded recording studio located in Glasgow's Castlemilk housing scheme. The Hazey Janes
The Hazey Janes are an indie pop band from Dundee, Scotland. Background The band consists of Andrew Mitchell (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Liam Brennan (drums, vocals, percussion) and siblings Alice Marra (vocals, guitar, keyboard, synthesizer) and Matthew Marra (bass guitar, keyboard, glockenspiel). They formed in 2000 and play a fusion of country-rock and indie-pop, with a penchant for heavy folk harmonies. The Hedrons
The Hedrons were an all-girl four-piece rock band, formed in early 2005 in their native Glasgow. Career The band have released three singles on the Glasgow-based label, Measured Records. Two singles went top 5 and one went top 20 in the Scottish Chart. Their debut album ''One More Won't Kill Us'' was released on 5 February 2007. The Hedrons appeared at several UK music festivals in 2006, including Download Festival, T in the Park, Isle of Wight Festival, Be in Belhaven and Guilfest and also undertook several UK tours. They toured America three times, appeared at SXSW, Canadian Music Week & Quebec City Music Festival. Wet Wet Wet
Wet Wet Wet are a Scottish soft rock band formed in 1982. They scored a number of hits in the UK charts and around the world in the 1980s and 1990s. They are best known for their 1994 cover of The Troggs' 1960s hit " Love Is All Around", which was used on the soundtrack to the film '' Four Weddings and a Funeral''. The song was an international success, and spent 15 weeks atop the British charts. The band is currently composed of founding member Graeme Clark (bass, vocals) and lead vocalist Kevin Simm, who replaced founding member Marti Pellow in 2018 after he left during the previous year. Hue And Cry (band)
Hue and Cry are a Scottish pop duo formed in 1983 in Coatbridge, Scotland by the brothers Pat Kane and Greg Kane. The duo are best known for their 1987 single "Labour of Love". Career Their first single "Here Comes Everybody" was released on a small Glasgow-based independent label, Stampede, in 1986. While not a hit, it attracted the interest of Virgin Records' subsidiary Circa who signed the duo in 1986. Their debut single for Circa was "I Refuse". Their second single and biggest hit was "Labour of Love" from the debut album ''Seduced and Abandoned''. Other hits included "Looking for Linda" and "Violently (Your Words Hit Me)" – both from their second album ''Remote''. In the 1990s, the brothers embarked upon a period of musical experimentation. The Law (Scotland Band)
The Law are a Scottish indie rock band from Dundee, Scotland. Their debut album ''A Measure of Wealth'' was released in September 2009 through their own record label Local Boy Records (distributed by Universal via Absolute). The first single to precede the album, "Don't Stop, Believe", was released on 20 July 2009. The second single to precede the album, "The Chase" was released on 14 September 2009. Biography The Law consists of Stuart Purvey (vocals), Stevie Anderson (guitar), and brothers Martin Donald (drums), and Simon Donald (bass). Early recording sessions produced promising results and a couple of indie single releases in 2007 - "Milk & Honey" and "Still Got Friday To Go" - which saw The Law breach the official UK Indie Chart.
