Mears Group plc is a housing and social care provider. It repairs and maintains over 700,000 social homes across the UK. History The company was founded in 1988 in Gloucestershire, where it is still based, was initially focused on the social housing sector as a contractor. In 1996, Mears Group was acquired by Bob Holt, who promptly took over management of the firm and embarked on an ambitious plan to greatly expand the business. That same year, it was floated on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange as Mears Group plc. Glasgow Hotel Stabbings
On 26 June 2020, a mass stabbing attack took place in the Park Inn Hotel, Glasgow, Scotland. Six people, including a police officer, were seriously injured. The attacker, Badreddin Abadlla Adam, was shot dead by police at the scene. Incident At approximately 12:50 pm on 26 June 2020, a man stabbed six people in the Park Inn Hotel, West George Street in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland. The attacker was cornered in an upstairs room of the hotel where he was shot dead by a police officer. Earlier, a police officer had responded to the initial call for emergency services to attend the scene and was injured shortly after arriving at the hotel. Ansar al-Sharia in Libya (ASL, ) was an Al-Qaeda-aligned Salafi Jihadist militia group that advocated the implementation of Sharia across Libya. Ansar al-Sharia came into being in 2011, during the Libyan Civil War. Until January 2015, it was led by its "Amir", Muhammad al-Zahawi. Refuweegee is a charity, launched in December 2015, to provide assistance to refugees as they arrive in Glasgow, Scotland.
