Me And My Shadow (film)
"Me and My Shadow" is a 1927 popular song. Al Jolson, Billy Rose, and Dave Dreyer are credited as the writers, with Jolson and Dreyer listed on the sheet music as responsible for the music and Rose the lyrics. Jolson was often given credits on sheet music so he could earn more by popularizing the tunes, but he played no part in writing this song. Jolson never recorded "Shadow", but in 1927, he used it in the touring version of " Big Boy". Popular recordings in 1927 were by "Whispering" Jack Smith, Nat Shilkret (vocal by Johnny Marvin) and the separate recording by Johnny Marvin for Columbia Records. The song became especially associated with Ted Lewis, who used it to close his act. "Shadow" has since become a standard, with many artists performing it. Michael Cooney (musician)
Michael Cooney (born 1943, Carmel, California, United States) is an American folk and blues musician who performed during the folk music revival from the 1960s onward. He is known for his blues performances as well as for performing at, and organizing, many folk festivals. In 1963, he participated in a "Young Folksinger's Contest" at the Monterey Folk Festival; Barbara Dane was the contest judge and another contest participant was Janis Joplin. Cooney was the featured musical guest on a first-season episode of ''Sesame Street'' (episode 33, originally aired December 24, 1969). Pierino Ronald "Perry" Como (; May 18, 1912 – May 12, 2001) was an American singer, actor, and television personality. During a career spanning more than half a century, he recorded exclusively for RCA Victor for 44 years, from 1943 until 1987. Holly Cole (born November 25, 1963) is a Canadian jazz singer and actress. For many years she performed with her group The Holly Cole Trio. David Warren Brubeck (; December 6, 1920 – December 5, 2012) was an American jazz pianist and composer.
