Md. Sekul Islam (1949 – 21 July 2021) was a Bangladeshi educationist. He was a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University of Dhaka and former Vice Chancellor of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology. Early life Md. Sekul Islam was born in 1949 into an aristocratic ''Dewan'' family in the village of West Baishpur in Matlab South Upazila of Chandpur District, Bangladesh. The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh.
