Abdul Latif Mirza
Abdul Latif Mirza (1947 – 2007) was a Bangladeshi Awami League politician. He was the member of parliament from Pabna-4 in 1979 and Sirajganj-4 in 1996. Biography Abdul Latif Mirza was born on 26 June 1947 in Purba Bankirat village of what is now Ullahpara Upazila, Bangladesh. Mirza was a member of the Mukti Bahini and fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. He had formed the Mirza Abdul Latif Bahini in Sirajganj. which had 8 to 10 thousand personnel during the war. He had started the force with 15 members and seven rifles. He had initially named it Polashdanga Youth Camp. He was elected to Sirajganj-4 constituency (Ullapara). Ullahpara Upazila
Ullapara () is an upazila, or sub-district of Sirajganj District, located in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. History Around 4500 BC, the region of Varendra consisted of parts of Dinajpur, Joypurhat, Bogra, Rajshahi and western Pabna. Pabna and Mymensingh were formed by the deposition of alluvial river soil. At that time, there was no Jamuna River, and Sirajganj and Tangail were part of Mymensingh. According to the Chinese traveler Xuanzang, Sirajgonj was inhabited for seven centuries before the Jamuna began to separate the region from the rest of Mymensingh. At that time, the new region was underwater for eight or nine months of the year. Sirajganj District () is a district in North Bengal, Bangladesh, it is located in Rajshahi Division. It is the 25th largest district by area and 9th largest district by population in Bangladesh. It is known as the gateway to North Bengal. Its administrative headquarter is Sirajganj. It is famous for its hand-loom cottage industries. In 1885, Sirajganj emerged as a thana. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (), popularly abbreviated as BNP (), is a major List of political parties in Bangladesh, political party in Bangladesh.
