A multi-channel network (MCN) is an organization that works with video platforms to offer assistance to channel owners in areas such as "product, programming, funding, cross-promotion, partner management, digital rights management, monetization and sales, and audience development," in exchange for a percentage of the ad revenue from the channel. Name origin The term "multi-channel network" (MCN) was coined by former YouTube employee and Next New Networks co-founder Jed Simmons. It has since become standard vocabulary in the YouTube ecosystem. At the time of YouTube's acquisition of Next New Networks (2011), the word "Network" had a confusing meaning inside of YouTube considering its engineering culture. Music Center the Netherlands (MCN) is an organization that promotes and archives Dutch professional music. It aims to strengthen the position of Dutch music and music culture in the Netherlands and abroad. It organizes events and informative meetings, workshops, and courses; publishes promotional CDs; and attends international music fairs and conventions. It is financially supported by the Dutch government. The establishment of a national organization for Dutch music was a wish of the 2007 government, and it led to MCN's establishment on 1 January 2008. The organization has its headquarters on the Rokin in Amsterdam. ''MCN'' or ''Motor Cycle News'' is a UK weekly Motorcycle, motorcycling newspaper published by Bauer Verlagsgruppe, Bauer Consumer Media, based in Peterborough, United Kingdom. It claims to be "the world’s biggest weekly motorcycle newspaper". The title was founded in late 1955 as ''Motorcycle News'' by Cyril Quantrill, a former employee of Motor Cycling (magazine), Motor Cycling, and was sold to EMAP in 1956. Bauer bought Emap's consumer media division in 2008. The brand has expanded to include the MCN website, MCN Mobile, iPhone app, the 'MCN Compare' Insurance Comparison service, MCN London and Scottish Motorcycle Show and the MCN Live! at Skegness party weekend.
