McKenzie Weinert
McKenzie Weinert (born December 2, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Spokane Zephyr FC in the USL Super League, on loan from National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club Seattle Reign FC. Collegiate career Weinert played for the Oregon State Beavers for four seasons. Having redshirted in 2017 and due to the extra year of eligibility granted to athletes in the 2020–21 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Weinert transferred and played another two seasons for the Washington Huskies. Club career Weinert joined then-OL Reign as a replacement player in June 2023. She then signed for Australian club Melbourne Victory in September 2023. After a successful season in Australia, Seattle Reign FC brought back Weinert in February 2024. On August 5, 2024, the Reign extended Weinert through the 2025 season and loaned her to USL Super League club Spokane Zephyr FC until the end of 2024. OL Reign is an American professional women's soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Bill and Teresa Predmore in 2012 as Seattle Reign FC, it was one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2020, OL Groupe, the parent company of French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, became the team's majority owner and rebranded to its current name, badge, and colors. The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league at the top of the United States league system. It is owned by the teams and, until 2020, was under a management contract with the United States Soccer Federation. The USL Super League (USLS) is a planned Division II professional women's soccer league in the United States, beginning play in 2023. The league will be owned and operated by the United Soccer League. History USL announced the formation of the Super League on September 21, 2021.
