Early years Born in Homestead, Pennsylvania, of Irish descent, McHugh came from a theatrical family. His parents, Edward A. Joe McHugh (born 16 July 1971) is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has served as Chair of the Committee on European Union Affairs since September 2020. Eoin McHugh (born 1994/5) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Cill Chartha and the Donegal county team.
