Alonzo Clifton McClennan
Alonzo Clifton McClennan (May 1, 1855 – April 14, 1912) was an African-American medical doctor who was the co-founder of the Charleston Hospital and Training School for Nurses in Charleston, South Carolina, established to provide for the education of black nurses, care of black patients, and hospital privileges for black doctors. It opened in 1897. McClennan had gone to medical school after being the second African American appointed as a midshipman to United States Naval Academy. He resigned in order to go directly into medicine. Graduating with medical and pharmacy degrees, he married and settled in Charleston, South Carolina, where he set up his medical practice. Early life and education McClennan was born in Columbia, South Carolina on 1 May 1855. Orphaned when young by his mother's death, he was raised after the Civil War by his uncle, Edward B. Brian McClennan
Brian "Bluey" McClennan (born 16 February 1962) is a New Zealand former professional rugby league footballer and coach. He was previously the head coach of the New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand national team (with whom he won the 2005 Tri-nations) and then England's Leeds Rhinos club (with whom he won the 2008 and 2009 Super League championships). Mike McClennan
Michael James McClennan (26 January 1944 – October 2019) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played for the New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand national team. McClennan went on to coach Auckland rugby league team and St Helens R.F.C., St Helens and also internationally with Tonga national rugby league team, Tonga. Playing career McClennan played in the Auckland Rugby League premiership for the Ponsonby Ponies and represented the New Zealand national rugby league team in two Test match (rugby league), Tests in 1971. He won the Tetley Trophy in 1970 New Zealand rugby league season, 1970 as leading try-scorer in the Auckland Rugby League competition.
