Angus Rowland McBean (8 June 1904 – 9 June 1990) was a Welsh photographer, set designer and cult figure associated with surrealism. Early life Angus Rowland McBean was born in Newbridge, Monmouthshire, Wales on 8 June 1904, elder child and only son of Clement Philip James McBean, of Scottish descent, and Irene Sarah, née Thomas, of Welsh origin. His father, a former second lieutenant in the South Wales Borderers, was a surveyor in the mines and the family moved frequently around Wales with his job. McBean attended Monmouth School and Newport Technical College, at which time he developed an interest in photography. Fascinated by the apparently magical properties of this process, Angus wanted to be able to take pictures of people and sold a gold watch left to him by his grandfather to raise the five pounds necessary for the equipment. John Lucas "Jack" McBean (born December 15, 1994) is an American former soccer player who played as a forward. Club career McBean, a California native, formally signed for LA Galaxy at the age of 16 in April 2011. As of July 2011, he was the youngest player to have signed for the club in its history. He had previously played for the LA Galaxy under-16s and, prior to that, Slammers FC and Corona del Mar High School. He was assigned the number 32 shirt for the 2011 Major League Soccer season. Marnie Elizabeth McBean, (born January 28, 1968) is a Canadian former rower. She is a three-time Olympics gold medallist. Rowing career A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, McBean competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the coxless pairs and eights events, winning gold medals in both. At the 1996 Summer Olympics she competed in the double and quadruple sculls, winning gold in the double and bronze in the quadruple. With her long-time rowing partner Kathleen Heddle, she was the first Canadians to win three Olympic Gold medals. Gordon McBean, , is a Canadian climatologist who serves as chairman of the board of trustees of the Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences. He is a professor at the University of Western Ontario and Chair for Policy in the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction.
