Mbithi Masya is a film maker, artist and writer born in Nairobi, Kenya. He was part of the experimental collective Just a Band, where he produced the videos for Hahe (known for reprising the character Makmende), Matatizo and other songs. Strathmore School
Strathmore School is Kenya's first multi-racial school, established in 1961 in the Lavington area of Nairobi. It began as a residential Sixth Form College offering British-styled A-level courses and in 1963 switched from the Cambridge School Certificate Examination to the London GCE. In 1977 it became a full-fledged Secondary school. In 1988, the school began offering education under the KCSE - Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education - curricula which it follows to date. The first batch of Primary school students (6-7 year olds) entered in 1987. It no longer has any boarders. School uniform The school uniform consists of a cream/beige shirt, mid-grey trousers, grey socks and black shoes. The tie has black, white and blue stripes. Strathmore University
Strathmore University is a chartered university based in Nairobi, Kenya. Strathmore College was started in 1961, as the first multi-racial, multi-religious advanced-level sixth form college offering science and arts subjects, by a group of professionals who formed a charitable educational trust (now the Strathmore Educational Trust). Saint Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, inspired and encouraged them to start the college. It is a Catholic university. Strathmore has a particularly successful accounting program: 60% of the CPA finalists in Kenya come from it in the past ten years, dating back from 2007. ''Kati Kati'' is a 2016 Kenyan drama film directed by Mbithi Masya. ''Kati Kati'' is a co-production of One Fine Day Films and Ginger Ink. Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. Makmende is a fictional Kenyan superhero character which has enjoyed a popular resurgence after an adaptation by Kenya's musical group Just a Band in the music video for their song ''Ha-He'' on their second album, '' ''82'''' (2009). The video became the first viral internet sensation originating from Kenya. History The word ''Makmende'' is a sheng ( Swahili slang) word which means "a hero". The name supposedly originated from the Kenyan neighborhood playgrounds. Anyone who thought they could do the impossible or a particularly difficult task was always asked whether they thought they were Makmende, since only Makmende could do or attempt to do the impossible.
