Mbhazima Shilowa
Mbhazima Samuel Shilowa (born 30 April 1958) is a retired South African politician and former Trade unions in South Africa, trade unionist. He was the third Premier of Gauteng between 1999 and 2008. He was formerly the general secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) between 1993 and 1999, and he later became a co-founder of the Congress of the People (South African political party), Congress of the People (Cope). Born in the rural Northern Province (South Africa), Northern Province, Shilowa became active in the trade union movement as a shop steward in Johannesburg in 1981. He rose through the ranks of the Transport and General Workers' Union (South Africa), Transport and General Workers' Union before becoming Cosatu's deputy general secretary in 1991 and its general secretary in 1993. National Assembly Of South Africa
The National Assembly is the directly elected house of the Parliament of South Africa, located in Cape Town, Western Cape. It consists of four hundred members who are elected every five years using a party-list proportional representation system where half of the members are elected proportionally from nine provincial lists and the remaining half from national lists so as to restore proportionality. Wendy Yvonne Nomathemba Luhabe (born 29 May 1957) is a South African entrepreneur. Life and career Luhabe was born in Daveyton, Gauteng, South Africa, and grew up in the old Benoni location. General elections were held in South Africa on 2 June 1999. The result was a landslide victory for the governing African National Congress (ANC), which gained fourteen seats.
