Mazlum Demir
Mazlum Demir (born 19 December 2003) is a Turkish racewalker who specializes in the 10,000 m walk and 20 km walk. He has champion titles in the 10,000 m event of the World U20 Championship and 20 km event of the Balkan Championship. Sport career Demir is coached by Sadullah Ergün in his hometown. 2022 He won the gold medal in the 10,000 m walk event at the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia. Demir received the bronze medal in the 20 km race walk event at the 2022 Mediterranean U23 Championships in Oran, Algeria. 2023 He finished the 20 km individual event at the 2023 European Race Walking Team Championships in Poděbrady, Czech Republic on 17th place. He took the gold medal in the 20 km event with 1:25:38 at the 2023 Balkan Race Walking Championships in Antalya, Turkey. Batman, Turkey
Batman (; ) is a city and capital of Batman District in Batman Province, Turkey. It lies on a plateau, above sea level, near the confluence of the Batman River and the Tigris and had a population of 452,157 in 2021. It is populated by Kurds. The Batı Raman oil field, which is the largest oil field in Turkey, is located just outside the city. Batman has a local airport and a military airbase, which was used for transit of aircraft and helicopters in some search and rescue operations during the Gulf War. Until the 1950s, Batman was a village, with a population of about 3,000. However, oil fields were discovered around it in the 1940s that resulted in a rapid development of the area and in the inflow of workforce from other parts of Turkey. Sport of athletics, Athletics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were held between 1 and 11 August 2024, featuring a total of 48 medal events across three distinct sets: track and field, road running, and racewalking. Four venues were used: Pont d'Iéna for race walking, Hôtel de Ville, Paris, Hôtel de Ville and Les Invalides for the start and end points of the marathon races, and Stade de France for the track and field events. The competition featured an identical number of medal events for men and women, the first instance in Olympic history.
