Maziyar Bizhani
Maziar Bijani (born 1973) is a conservative cartoonist who publishes in Iranian newspapers such as ''Kayhan''. He is known for his bitter criticism of Iranian reformists, reformers and pro-Western capitalists. Before becoming a cartoonist, he studied politics. Bijani's work has been featured in various websites promoting Palestinian resistance to the Israeli occupation. He has been accused of anti-semitism. Work On September 26, 2008, Iran released a satirical book of cartoons on the Holocaust illustrated by Bizhani. The book's release was celebrated as part of Iran's Quds Day. In August 2010, the website ''Holocartoons'' was launched. The website contains illustrations from the book. ''Kayhan'' ( fa, کيهان, '' en, The Cosmos'') is a newspaper published in Tehran, Iran. It is considered "the most conservative Iranian newspaper." Hossein Shariatmadari is the editor-in-chief of ''Kayhan''. According to the report of the ''New York Times'' in 2007, his official position is representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran. The Reformists ( fa, اصلاحطلبان, Eslâh-Talabân) are a political faction in Iran. Holocartoons is an Iranian website critical of Zionism launched on August 2010. The site, which opens to the Pink Panther theme song, aims to undermine the historic dimensions of the mass murder of Jews during World War II. The site is based on a comic book written by Omid Mehdinejad and illustrated by Maziar Bijani. In the preface it opens as following: Reactions On August 5, 2010, Yad Vashem, issued a statement calling the site "The latest salvo emanating from Iran that denies the facts of the Holocaust and attempts to influence those who are ignorant of history."
