Moonstar88 is a Filipino rock band formed in Manila, Philippines in 1999. History Moonstar88 was formed in February 1999. They were signed to Sony BMG by 2006, and later to Ivory Records in 2012. Previously under Backbeat Management, they are now with Soupstar Management under Darwin Hernandez which also handles other bands including Sandwich, Callalily, 6cyclemind, Pedicab. As of April 2008, they had released four albums, ''Popcorn'', ''Press to Play'' and ''Todo Combo''. Later, “This Year” and a collaboration on "Pag-Ibig Ko Sa Iyo", found on ''RoK On! Music'' inspired by Ragnarok Online were released in 2012 and 2009 respectively. They performed a rendition of the APO song "Panalangin." The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group and one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music ( OPM) composed of Danny Javier†, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo. The group had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the Ateneo de Manila high school, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto Macaraeg, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, Boboy Garrovillo, and the 16th member Danny Javier who joined in college. "Migraine" is a Tagalog-language song written by Herbert Hernandez for the Filipino rock band Moonstar88, with Maychelle Baay in the lead vocals. It was released in early February 19, 2008 as the third single of their album ''Todo Combo'' (2007), after "Tadhana" and "Di Kasi". It was included in the soundtrack to the 2009 film ''When I Met U'', and was later covered by actress Yassi Pressman for the 2018 film ''Pambansang Third Wheel'' and by Sue Ramirez for the 2019 film ''Cuddle Weather''. Alfonso Yanga Miranda Jr. (born February 7, 1976), widely known as Chito Miranda, is a Filipino singer-songwriter and occasional actor, best known as one of the founding members and lead singer for the band Parokya ni Edgar. Early life and career Miranda attended grade school and high school at the Ateneo de Manila University where he met Gab Chee Kee, Vinci Montaner, Jeric Estaco, and Mikko Yap. They formed a garage band during their high school years. The group was known in school to be class clowns. Yano
Yano is a Filipino folk/ punk rock band formed in 1993. The band members were originally composed of Dong Abay on vocals and Eric Gancio on guitar. Onie Badiang later joined them to play bass. Nowie Favila was the usual drummer but declined to join the group due to commitments with Ang Grupong Pendong. Other drummers of the band included Nonong Timbalopez, Harley Alarcon and Jun Nogoy. The band got their name when Abay looked through an entry in "''Talahulugang Pilipino''", an old Tagalog dictionary. "Yano" in Tagalog means "simple", a term often used by Tagalog speakers in the province of Quezon. The group disbanded in 1997 after Abay left the band. Eric Gancio reformed Yano in 2007.
