The Mayor of Macon-Bibb County is the highest elected official in the consolidated city-county government of Macon and Bibb County, Georgia. John Miller (New Zealand Politician)
John Miller (1869 – 20 September 1938) was a New Zealand politician and veterinarian. He served as Mayor of Invercargill from 1927 to 1929 and from 1931 until his death in 1938. Biography Miller was born in 1869 in Johnstone, Scotland. He became a veterinarian after graduating from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He lived in Blairgowrie until emigrating to Invercargill, New Zealand, in 1911. In 1919, Miller was elected to the Invercargill City Council, serving as a councillor until 1927 when he first ran for Mayor. He easily defeated his opponent and became the 31st Mayor of Invercargill. In 1929 he was defeated by councillor John D. Campbell. He challenged Campbell again in 1931 and won by a margin of 44 votes. He defeated Campbell again in 1933 by a larger margin. He was re-elected to the mayoralty unopposed in April 1935, with Gordon Reed becoming his deputy. James Miller (builder)
Sir James Miller (16 March 190520 March 1977) was a Scottish businessman and politician, who served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh and Lord Mayor of London. As an architect, engineer and house-builder he founded the firm Miller Homes in 1934. Life Miller was born on 16 March 1905, the son of Edinburgh architect James Miller (architect), James Miller. The family lived at 32 Bellevue Road at this time. He was educated at George Heriot's School. He then trained as an architect under his father. In 1925, he undertook his first design-build project after a developer withdrew from a project. In 1934, continuing in this vein, he formed James Miller & Partners with his brothers, which eventually was rebranded as Miller Homes. In 1936, he became a town councillor in Edinburgh and in 1947 was City Treasurer. In post-war Britain his company expanded to cover all sections of the country. David Raymond Miller (born December 26, 1958) is a Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as the 63rd mayor of Toronto from 2003 to 2010. William Miller (March 16, 1821 – February 21, 1901) was a banker and politician from South Bend, Indiana. He served as Mayor of South Bend from 1872 to 1876 and was on the city council. Early life William Miller was born on March 16, 1821, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, to Henry Miller. His father was a farmer. Miller worked as a clerk in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
