Mayank Chhaya is an Indian journalist based in Chicago. His career includes extensive reporting experience out of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United States. He is a widely published commentator on South Asian and China–Tibet affairs. Since 1998 he has also been writing extensively about America in the wider international context. India–Tibet Relations
Tibet–India relations are said to have begun during the spread of Buddhism to Tibet from India during the 6th century AD. During the Tibetan Empire, Tibet controlled the Silk road routes around and through the Tibetan plateau, and from Tang China to India's kingdoms.
