Maxwell Shaw
Maxwell Shaw (21 February 1929 – 21 August 1985 in London, England) was an actor, known for ''The Barber of Stamford Hill'' (1962), ''Once More, with Feeling!'' (1960) and ''BBC Sunday-Night Theatre'' (1950). He is best remembered for his television work, but he also appeared in many feature films of the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s. He appeared as Mark 'Frisky' Lee in ''Gideon's Way'' (episode ''"''Big Fish, Little Fish") (1964). His Broadway credits include ''The Hostage (play), The Hostage''. He had a small role in ''Ben-Hur (1959 film), Ben-Hur'' (1959). He was married to casting director Rose Tobias Shaw. The Oblong Box (film)
''The Oblong Box'' is a 1969 British gothic horror film directed by Gordon Hessler, starring Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Alister Williamson. This was the first film to star both Price and Lee. Taking its title from the 1844 short story " The Oblong Box", it explores and combines several themes typical to the work of Edgar Allan Poe, such as premature burial and masked figures, with the non-Poe theme of voodoo ritual killings. Plot In 1865 England, having been disfigured in an African voodoo ceremony for a transgression against the native populace, Sir Edward Markham is kept locked in his room by his guilt-ridden brother, Julian. Tiring of his captivity, Sir Edward plots to escape by faking his death. Aided by family lawyer Trench, he hires witchdoctor N'Galo to concoct a drug to put Sir Edward into a deathlike trance. ''Special Branch'' is a British television series made by Thames Television for ITV and shown between 1969-1970 and 1973-1974. A police drama series, the action was centred on members of the Special Branch counterintelligence and counterterrorism department of the London Metropolitan Police. The first two series starred Derren Nesbitt, before the programme went through an overhaul, with George Sewell taking over as the new lead.
